IWS M&E CAD Technician Simon Elwell took on the 300 mile cycle challenge on behalf of Cancer Research UK over the month of September. Simon took on this challenge to raise money for a charity that is close to his heart. Simon’s father was diagnosed with Leukaemia in April 2016. Thankfully Simon’s father received a swift diagnosis and was able to be treated to stabilise his condition.

As if this wasn’t enough of an incentive, more recently a work colleague of Simon’s was diagnosed with exactly the same form of leukaemia as his father. So the challenge was on behalf of both of them.

As for the ride, it sounded a good idea at the time – 300 miles over 30 days, that’s circa 10 miles a day. Easy right?
