School partnership programme
SSI Services actively support and create relationships with the local community. In 2017, we launched our school partnership programme to help prepare the West Midlands’ future workforce. The partnership with St Michael’s Church of England High School in Rowley Regis ensures that pupils get the opportunity to gain real-world experience in business, in preparation to succeed in their future careers. This is a fantastic opportunity for career development.
We have provided work placement opportunities for university students, schools and individuals who have been unemployed for a while and are looking to get back into work.
One of the highlights of our placements is the chance to work in various areas of the business which gives students the chance to experience how different functions in business operate.

The wellbeing of our members of staff is very important to us. At SSI we believe the wellbeing of our staff members is deeply linked to our service quality levels and performance. We have an employee assistance programme which is a free and confidential service open to employees and their families. The assistance offered ranges from health and wellbeing, legal, marital and financial information.
Employee Sponsorship Programme
In 2017 SSI Services launched an employee sponsorship programme to support employees who are undertaking challenges for charitable causes that really make a difference and stretch the individual.
All employees within the SSI division are encouraged to apply for a company donation to contribute to “already in place” fundraising efforts. Once a quarter, SSI Services select a set amount of events to support, each event will receive a company donation and employees will have their event promoted on the SSI website and social media pages.
Applications during 2017 included employees undertaking ultra-marathons, 24 hour golf, sailing and relay challenges, a sky dive, and a 100 mile cycle challenge. Employees were undertaking these challenging events on behalf of some very deserving charities including:
Macmillan Cancer Support
St Richards Hospice, Worcester
The Spinal Muscular Atrophy Trust
Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)
Birmingham Children’s Hospital
Cancer Research UK
Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)
